The Fin Rilis Single Baru ‘Nebula’ dengan Sentuhan Motown-Soul

The indie band from Japan, The fin., has once again made waves in the international music scene with the release of their latest single, “Nebula,” in May 2025. This new track was launched just before their performance at The Great Escape festival in Brighton, as well as two sold-out shows in London.

“Nebula” captures the feeling of being caught in uncertainty while still focusing on the light of hope ahead. With a bright and optimistic pop sound, the song combines Motown and indie soul vibes from the ’60s and ’70s.

Yuto Uchino’s enchanting vocals harmonize with lush musical arrangements, including soothing saxophone solos and refreshing flute melodies. Tomo Carter, London-based drummer, and Hinata Ishii on saxophone and flute round out the band’s sound.

Yuto Uchino described “Nebula” as capturing the sensation of floating between the sea and sky, where the ocean breeze touches the skin and the warm sunlight illuminates the face. The song reflects those moments when doubts start to melt away, replaced by a peaceful sense of hope.

As the song progresses, listeners are gently guided towards a new beginning, feeling as if they are lifted above the clouds with stars shining overhead.

The fin. also announced the release of a visualizer video for “Nebula” on their official YouTube channel on the same day as the song’s launch. Additionally, they are planning a North American tour in July 2025, covering eight cities including Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York.

Formed in 2012 by Yuto Uchino and Kaoru Nakazawa, The fin. is known for their musical style that blends indie and psychedelic pop with influences of soul, funk, and jazz. Yuto Uchino handles songwriting, recording, mixing, and music production. Their lyrics often depict fears of growth and change but always offer strength and hope.

Throughout their career, The fin. has performed on various international stages, including renowned festivals like FUJI ROCK, Summer Sonic, SXSW, and The Great Escape.

During their tour in China in 2023, they held shows in over 25 cities with a total audience exceeding 20,000 people. They have also collaborated with notable artists such as Phoenix, The Last Shadow Puppets, MEW, Circa Waves, and Wild Nothing.

Their discography includes the debut album “Days With Uncertainty” (2014), “There” (2018) produced with Bradley Spence, EP “Wash Away” (2019), and “Outer Ego” (2021) entirely produced by Yuto Uchino.

Since December 2023, they have been exploring new musical directions with releases like “Swans,” followed by “Towards the Sun,” “Alone in the Sky,” and “Echoes” in early 2025.
