Loegex Mengkritik Tajam Melalui Single Musuh Bersama

Band alternative metal Logeex from Depok is back in action with their latest single titled “Musuh Bersama (Para Penghasut)”. This song not only serves as a sharp criticism of propaganda practices and divisive issues in society, but also as a call to remain united in the face of manipulation that often exploits differences in ethnicity, religion, race, and politics.

Recorded at Studio Black Ant 16, Cilodong, Depok, in October 2024, this track showcases Logeex’s consistency in voicing social realities through powerful yet meaningful music. Lead vocalist Robby Bakha explained that the song was inspired by the rampant provocative narratives that undermine unity.

“We want to remind everyone that the real enemy is not each other, but the instigators who sow discord. Important issues like education, health, and the economy are often overshadowed by our quarrels,” he said. Bassist Tony Fibritanto added, “This song reflects the present time. We hope its message will trigger collective awareness to be more critical of the information we receive.”

Despite the new lineup that includes vocalist Robby replacing Gablen, Logeex remains true to their Rap Rock/Nu Metal character that has been their DNA since the beginning. Guitarist Dery Kurnia emphasized, “We still maintain full rap vocals as a tribute to the Gablen era, but we have also added rougher guitar riffs, combining post-grunge and hard rock energy.”

Meanwhile, drummer Fajar Akbar described this recording process as the most intense. “We wanted every drum beat and guitar distortion to feel like pent-up anger, representing the frustration many people feel about the current situation,” he explained. Inspired by giants in the genre like Korn, Limp Bizkit, and P.O.D., Logeex successfully blends these influences with relevant local touches.

This single marks part of their long journey post-pandemic hiatus, where they have released 11 songs and 1 album. “We don’t want to stop creating. In fact, amidst chaos, music should be a medium of resistance,” Robby asserted.

Through “Musuh Bersama (Para Penghasut)”, Logeex not only solidifies their position in the Indonesian alternative music scene but also invites listeners to reflect. “Our music may be loud, but its message is clear: don’t be a tool for instigators. Solidarity is the strongest weapon,” Tony concluded. This single is now available on all streaming platforms, encouraging fans to not only headbang but also open their eyes to the reality around them.

With a solid lineup and sharpened vision, Logeex is committed to producing works that shake consciousness. As Dery expressed, “This is just the beginning. There are still many social stories that need to be shouted through our music.” Their future steps are awaited as part of the metal music wave that is not only noisy but also boldly outspoken.
