President Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia received a warm welcome from Indonesian citizens upon his arrival in New Delhi, India. Nadine Ardiani Chairunisa, an Indonesian student at Amity University, along with fellow student Demas Fadel Anggara, eagerly awaited Prabowo’s arrival. Despite some delays, they described the experience as exciting yet nerve-wracking. Prabowo’s visit not only signifies a new chapter in bilateral relations, but also commemorates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and India. Prior to his departure, Prabowo expressed his pride in being invited as the chief guest at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations, considering it a great honor for Indonesia. He highlighted the participation of Indonesian TNI troops in the event, showcasing the strong ties between the two nations. The visit also includes scheduled meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss enhancing cooperation on various strategic issues.
